HOBBIES
Playing and writing music with friends in the metal band ‘Inherit The Horror’!
FAVORITE MEDIA
As cliche as it is, I like a variety of music, but metal will always be my go-to. As for movies, I like Haggard, Saving Silverman, and Nacho Libre for comedies. The Star Wars saga 1-6 and the Bladerunner movies for sci-fi. I'm not too much of a book reader aside from religious stuff like The Bible, reading about the lives of the saints, and The Imitation of Christ.
FAVORITE RIKISHI
Sadanoumi Takashi! His green kesho mawashi with Kumamon displayed caught my eye, and so I started following him. I like that he's a good, high-ranking rikishi, but he's not overly popular. It makes me feel like I'm part of a special fan club for cheering him on!
RIVALRIES
I don't have a rival, but I'm not sure if someone sees me as their rival.
TRAVEL GOALS
There's a handful of countries in Europe I'd like to visit. But of course, Japan as well, for the food, history, and sumo!
CLUB GOALS
I want everyone, individually, to progress to their fullest potential. As for the club as a whole, I'd like for it to be recognized locally as something the city of Dallas can be proud of calling "their" team.
FAVORITE COLOR
Green is my favorite color because it's the color of life (trees, plants, flowers).
FAVORITE ANIMAL
I have too many animals I like, all for different reasons, but I'd say the most interesting animal to me would be crocodiles and alligators because they seem like our modern day dinosaurs.
SUMO ADVICE
Don't overthink it, just jump in and have fun with it! Listen to your body, know your limits, and be safe. Don't feel like you need to prove yourself, everyone in the group gets respect!
before tournaments
A good mixture of excitement, happiness, nervousness, and anxiousness. I'm always happy to see everyone from all the other clubs and I have fun wrestling with them!
MEMORABLE BOUTS
There's a handful of times where I've won a bout in a tournament or a practice bout in keiko and surprised myself with my technique. Moments of "Did I really just do that?"
SUMO STYLE
It depends on my opponent, but I feel more comfortable with belt wrestling. I need to break away from it so I don't always try to rely on it and so I can change things up during a match, if needed.
